About ZeroSmart

 

ZeroSmart is an environmental organisation that helps people to reduce their carbon footprint. We work with organisations such as the UN to support climate projects across the world that help the environment, such as planting trees and funding renewable energy wind farms. 

 

Our team

ZeroSmart is run by two young multi-award-winning entrepreneurs, John and Eliana. You will have regular contact with the founders who will support you in your role. The entire company operates remotely, with the team spread across multiple countries. This role is fully remote and fully flexible. You will work entirely from home and at working times which suit you, as long as you fulfil your duties by agreed deadlines. We are an open and friendly workplace which encourages communication and learning with each other. 

 

The position

Do not worry if you have not completed a role like this before or you don’t have all the skills or experience, training will be provided. Enthusiasm and willingness to learn is the most important skill we are looking for. Job role activities

 

Social media management

  • Management of social media channels (such as a Facebook page, Facebook group, Instagram and others)

  • Regularly posting on social media

  • Following and interacting with relevant posts

  • Building, designing, and managing social media campaigns

  • Creation of relevant content for social media channels

  • Monitoring competitor social media channels

  • Reviewing analytics and data 

  • Supported analysis of which social media marketing campaigns work best and improving

 

Copywriting and blog management

  • Writing of emails and company newsletters

  • Working with our team of writers to curate blog articles

  • Preparing blog articles for publishing

  • Optimising social media and blog posts for SEO

  • Publishing blog articles

Outreach

  • Contacting bloggers, influencers, newspapers, and magazines to promote ZeroSmart 

 

Other marketing 

  • Helping with all relevant marketing and promotional activities, including Christmas social media campaigns and promotion

REQUIRED

  • Time management and the ability to work towards a deadline (required)

  • Initiative and proactively searching for and completing activities which help you achieve your job role goals better (required)

  • Excellent verbal and written English (Native level or C1+) (required)

  • Social skills and being comfortable with communicating with a variety of different people, especially via social media channels (required)

  • Why must I be 16-24 year old and on Universal credit?

The Kickstart Scheme, which ZeroSmart is a part of, is aimed at helping young and unemployed people find jobs and develop their skills. We receive funding from the government to employ  people who meet this criteria. 

  • What is the Kickstart Scheme?

The UK government's Kickstart Scheme is aimed at preventing young people who are currently unemployed facing long-term unemployment. The Kickstart Scheme offers six-month jobs for young people aged 16 to 24 years old who are currently claiming Universal Credit and are at risk of long-term unemployment. 
 

Kickstart is a great opportunity. Not only does it give you access to a six month paid job, you will also get valuable experience to build up your CV, extra support to boost your future job prospects and help to start your career.

  • How do I know if I'm eligible?

If you're between 16 and 24 and are currently on Universal Credit, then you're eligible. To find out more, ask your Work Coach about the Kickstart scheme.

You will be paid the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage depending on how old you are.
